Visit the exhibition after hours accompanied with live performances and drinks. For this Late event, we will be treated to music performances by accomplished violinist and composer, Midori Komachi. She will perform works from her impressive repertoire, including new pieces from her forthcoming album ‘Chashitsu – Auditory Tea Room’ (to be released September 2023). Midori’s musical practice and her personal background resonates with and unpacks many themes at the core of the State-less 無國界 exhibition.

In celebration of the 90th Anniversary of Canada-Japan Relations, Midori Komachi, violinist and newly appointed adjunct lecturer at Queen's University, will give a lecture recital exploring the works for solo violin by Japanese and Canadian composers.


Through this programme, Midori will illustrate the expanding world of expression and technique in the solo violin repertoire, which brings together various aspects of Japanese aesthetics.
